We will celebrate Mahavatar Babaji Commemoration Day this Thursday, July 25. The service will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. It is customary to bring a flower and a donation in an envelope. The Temple and J Street Chapel will be open for meditation between 6:00 and 6:45 p.m.
Please note that the regularly scheduled 7 – 8 p.m. Thursday evening Inspirational Service at the main Temple will be canceled due to the commemorative service.
During the week of August 4 – 10, thousands of SRF members and seekers from around the world will gather in downtown Los Angeles for spiritual renewal and divine fellowship at the SRF World Convocation. For details, please visit www.yogananda.org.
If you want to avoid high parking fees in downtown Los Angeles and a long drive in crawling traffic, consider taking one of the Temple’s chartered buses to and from Convocation. On Sunday, August 4, two buses will leave 215 K Street near the Retreat parking lot gate: one at 11 a.m. and the other at 12 p.m. On Saturday, August 10, two buses will leave the Bonaventure Hotel to return to Encinitas: one at 4 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m.
Round trip and one-way bus reservations and a detailed flyer are available after services at a table outside until the end of July. So, leave the driving to us and take the Temple bus! Make your reservations right away!
Those who cannot make the journey to Los Angeles are warmly invited to participate in this joyous occasion via livestream right here in Encinitas at the J Street Chapel in five selected daytime and evening events: 1) The opening class on Sunday, August 4, 7:30-8:30 p.m.; 2) Meditation with Kirtan on Wednesday, August 7, 8 – 11 a.m.; 3) Satsanga, Thursday, August 8, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.; 4) SRF President Brother Chidananda’s Satsanga, Friday, August 9, 7:30-8:30 p.m.; and 5) the closing class, Saturday, August 10, 1-2 p.m.
While Brother Chidananda’s livestream Satsanga is free-of-charge, there is a suggested donation of $10. A collection basket will be passed at the end of the screening. Join us at the J Street Chapel to experience the joy, wisdom, and fellowship of Convocation! The doors will open a half-hour before each class.
Please note that the Special Convocation Streaming schedule during the week of the SRF Convocation, as well as the Temple schedule for the week following Convocation, are posted on the Temple website at EncinitasTemple.org. Copies are also available in the foyer.
