ANNOUNCEMENTS 1-4-09 Our holidays continue as we celebrate the birthday of our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, with a commemorative service tomorrow, January 5 at 8 p.m. The temple will be open from 6:45 – 7:15 for parents with children and remain open until 7:45 for those unable to stay for the regular service. It is customary to bring a flower and a donation in an envelope to these services. We will also have a six-hour meditation in honor of our Guru this Saturday, January 10, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Guidelines for the All-day Christmas meditation apply to this event as well. Please bring a fruit and donation as an offering. There will be a class on Sunday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. reviewing the practice of the Energization Exercises. This event occurs only once each year at our temple and is a very special opportunity. Please bring your SRF student's card for admittance. Join us for seva, Divine Service! Saturday, January 17, is our monthly Day of Service, beginning at 9 a.m. with a brief meditation led by the minister. We then choose among cleaning, gardening, and maintenance projects. At noon, after a meditation, we enjoy a wonderful lunch. We hope to see you there. Beginning Saturday, February 14, our Saturday evening meditation format will change. Explanatory letters are available in the foyer on the credenza. The SRF Lessons Study Group meets in the Special Events Room on Mondays at 7 p.m. Due to the commemorative service, the Lessons Study Group will not meet tomorrow night, January 5. The Study Group will cover SRF Lesson 106, entitled "The Story of Creation,” on January 12.
